As some may now, I was to have run the ENDURrun again this year, but unfortunately I broke my foot at a trail race about 3 weeks ago, thus relegating me to the sidelines for the 2008 edition. Since I am not going to be running, Lloyd has given me the task of compiling the daily stage summaries. I am excited to take on this different challenge and do a job that will live up to the standard set forth by Lloyd in previous years.
Since I have more time for this than Lloyd did as race director, I thought that it would be fun to not only have the text edition of the daily stage summary, but also to try out a video edition as well. Now, to preface this, I need to let everyone know that I am not schooled in creating video, but I am looking forward to putting a little something together after each stage. As it will be challenging to detail the daily exploits of the 25+ Ultimate runners, as well as the Sport runners, guest runners, relays, and random dogs that join in for a run, it is my hope that by having both text and video I will be able to represent everyone in every stage summary, whether in video or text.
The easiest way for me to get a video online so that you and your friends and family could see it was to create a youtube channel. If you go to
www.youtube.com/user/endurrun you will see a video I created of highlights from the 2007 edition of the ENDURrun (consider it a little something to stoke your fire). While the highlight video is a slideshow of still pictures, the videos from this year will be live action as I will be filming the races and conducting interviews with people competing in and volunteering with the ENDURrun. With that said, please let me know if you would rather not be included in any of the videos. Again, my hope is that everyone will be a part of this as it will be a fun way for your friends and family from afar to follow your progress, as well as see what the courses are like and who all these other crazy people are. I also hope that this will bring some more exposure to the ENDURrun and that it will contribute to its continued growth.

As well, they can leave comments or the can record and post videos of support for you! I would love for this to be very interactive, so encourage them to get involved.
