I’m from Paris Ontario. I started Grand River Endurance club back in 2014 and I work as a kinesiologist at Advanced Therapies clinic. I’m driven to get the most out of myself each day and throughout ENDURrun.
Josh Bolton is a great guy who has run several Run Waterloo events throughout the years. We’re always excited to welcome new runners to the community, and this time for for a new true contender for the Gold Jersey as well!
How did you find out about ENDURrun? Training partner Rob Brouillette
What convinced you to take the plunge? I had surgery on my achilles last fall and wanted to take on new challenges in 2019. The ENDURrun is a way for me to showcase the endurance base I’ve built since coming back from surgery.
What exposure did you have to ENDURrun 2018? Followed online as well as talked to individuals at the time via messenger about each stage and how are they were doing throughout the event.
What advice have you been collecting? I’ve got advice from various individuals in regards to how to attack each stage. I’ve also run a few of the courses so I know what to expect going into these stages.
What are you still hoping to learn? I’m working on the fueling aspect of ENDURrun as well as the recovery part. I have a few resources to help with the recovery part of the event.
What are your ENDURrun 2019 stories? I’ve been motivated by Rob;s past success in the event. My goal is to win the event but I’m also motivated to beat some stage records as well. I’m pumped to be apart of the community that is ENDURrun and share some laughs with people as we put ourselves through the grind.
What are you most looking forward to about ENDURrun 2019? Digging deep within myself to run the best I can each stage. I’m also looking forward to working with Rob to crush some stages.
What are you nervous about, if anything? Running through soreness.
Can you share any details of your training? I’ve done some back to back workout days. Went to Bechtel park and did a workout on the loop for the race. I’ve done more workouts on the rail trail as I have to work harder to hit times.
What is your runner profile? I’ve been running for 14 years about 12 years competitively. I started as a track and cross country runner but ever since graduating last 6 years has been road racing. I still train on all these surfaces but only compete on the roads. I will be doing track races again next summer.
